SP Grindelwald

Po asi 5 letech jsem zavítal na světový pohár v boulderech do švýcarského Grindelwaldu. V pátek ráno vyrážím s Peťou z Chocně, po cestě naberem Irču a po náročné cestě jsme ubytovaní v Interlakenu asi 20km od našich závodů. V kvalifikaci nás startuje 77 chlapů, což je opravdu dost, lezu ve skupině B, která má trošku jiné bouldery, vybojuji zónu na trojce a na pětce, bohužel se mi nedaří dát ani jeden z nich, příjde mi to všechno nějaký těžký... je z toho 64. místo. V druhé skupině leze Marťas s Chváličem a předvedou opravdu super výkony! Honza skončí na pěkném 39. místě a je do půlky startovního pole, což je velice pěkný výsledek, škoda jednoho boulderu, ten by Honzovi zajistil vstupenku mezi 20 nejlepších. Marťas má konečně potřebné štěstí, dá všechny bouldery a po dlouhé době postupuje do semifinále, paráda. Z holek nás reprezentuje pouze Petra Růžičková, leze pěkně, dá 2 bouldery, ve dvou dolézá kousek pod top a bohužel jí to stojí semifinálovou účast, velká škoda, ale pěkný výkon. V neděli zavezem Irču na vlak a natěšeni co předvede Marťas v semifinále jedem směr Grindelwald. Bouldery v semifinále, jsou víceméně postaveny v jeho stylu a tak s napětím čekám jak se mu semifinále povede, nakonec urve 2 bouldery a stačí to na velice dobré 11. místo, škoda toho posledního boulderu, finále totiž bylo v jeho dosahu... Dodíváme se na zbytek semifinále, jsem uchvácen z výkonu ostatních závodníků a z těch nádherných boulderů, stavěči se fakt vytáhli! Byl to pro mě krásný zážitek, ta atmosféra a krásný horský prostředí, snad příště s lepším umístěním...

After some 5 years I take part in the World Cup in Grindelwald, Switzerland. On Friday morning I set off for the journey with Peťa, pick up Irča on the way and after a demanding journey we sleep over in Interlaken about 20 km from the contest. There are 77 guys in the qualification, which is a lot, I climb in B group, which has somewhat different boulders, I make it to the zones on number three and five, unfortunately don't complete any of them, everything seems so hard to me... it makes it the 64th place. Martin and Chválič climb in the second group and give a great performance! Honza ends up on a nice 39th place and is in the first half, which is a nice result, too bad one boulder didn't work out which would have got him among the best 20. Martin is finally lucky, sends all boulders and after some time makes it to the semi-finals, great. As far as girls are concerned, our only female contestant is Petra Růžičková, she climbs nicely, sends 2 boulders makes it under the top on other two but unfortunately this prevents her from the semi-finals, it's a pity but the performance was great. On Sunday we take Irča to the train station and curious about what Martin is going to show in the semi-finals we are going to Grindewald. Boulders in the semi-final are more or less in his style, so I am anxious to see how he is doing in the semi-finals, in the end he grabs 2 boulders, which makes is a lovely 11th place, too bad the last boulder didn't work out, the final was within reach... We watch the end of the semi-final, I am mesmerized by the performance of other athletes and the great boulders, the builders really did a great job! It was a great experience for me, the atmosphere and the nice mountain surroundings, maybe next time with a better result...
